Components are added with the button and their properties changed with the button. The currently highlighted component is the red text on the right and the drop down menu shows the properties that can be changed for it. Once the applet is what you want then just press the "Save" button to generate the HTML file plus all the other applet files compressed into a JAR file.

At the bottom of the applet is a quicktime movie which is going to run using the Java Media Framework plugin. The background of the applet could be a block color but in this case I've chosen to use a tiled cloud image.
